The Newport Ship Project
There will be meeting of Shirenewton Local Hisotry Society on Tuesday, 30th September at The Huntsman Hotel, Shirenewton at 7.30 pm entitled 'An Update on the Newport Ship Project' by Neil Stevenson

SLHS now lists over 100 local and some national history enthusiasts as
members with diverse interests, which include among it’s many
facets, archaeology, social and industrial evolution and genealogy.
The aims of the society are to increase the interest and knowledge
of the local and wider community in the history, geography and
architecture of the Parish of Shirenewton, and it’s environs, often
expanding into nearby parishes, the county of Monmouthshire and
the rest of Wales.
It also assists in the preservation, protection, development and
improvement of features of historic and public interest in the above
area, and exchanges information and advice with other similar
groups and associations.
